Java,J2EE
Enterprise Solutions Java & J2EE:
The Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) defines the standard for developing multitier enterprise applications. The J2EE platform simplifies enterprise applications by basing them on standardized, modular components, by providing a complete set of services to those components, and by handling many details of application behavior automatically, without complex programming.
The J2EE platform takes advantage of many features of the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE), such as "Write Once, Run Anywhere" portability, JDBC API for database access, CORBA technology for interaction with existing enterprise resources, and a security model that protects data even in internet applications. Building on this base, the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition adds full support for Enterprise JavaBeans components, Java Servlets API, JavaServer Pages and XML technology. The J2EE standard includes complete specifications and compliance tests to ensure portability of applications across the wide range of existing enterprise systems capable of supporting the J2EE platform. In addition, the J2EE specification now ensures Web services interoperability through support for the WS-I Basic Profile.
Standards:
As a single standard that can sit on top of a wide range of existing enterprise systems -- database management systems, transaction monitors, naming and directory services, and more -- the J2EE platform breaks the barriers inherent between current enterprise systems. The unified J2EE standard wraps and embraces existing resources required by multitier applications with a unified, component-based application model. This enables the next generation of components, tools, systems, and applications for solving the strategic requirements of the enterprise.
The J2EE specification also supports emerging Web Services technologies through inclusion of the WS-I Basic Profile. WS-I Basic Profile compliance means that the developers can build applications on the J2EE platform as Web services that interoperate with Web services from non-J2EE compliant environments.
With simplicity, portability, scalability, and legacy integration, the J2EE platform is the platform for enterprise solutions.
Industry:
The J2EE standard represents a collaboration between leaders from throughout the enterprise software arena. Our partners include OS and database management system providers, middleware and tool vendors, and vertical market applications and component developers. Working with these partners, Sun has defined a robust, flexible platform that can be implemented on the wide variety of existing enterprise systems currently available, and that supports the range of applications IT organizations need to keep their enterprises competitive.
The success of the J2EE platform in the enterprise continues to rise as more than two-thirds of enterprise software development managers use the J2EE platform to develop and deploy their applications. With addition of interoperable Web services and other new features in version 1.4, the J2EE platform will continue to be the industry standard for enterprise solutions for many years to come.

However it does mean that designs can be hand-coded or a template system installed. There are several well-known template systems, including STS, BTS and SMARTY.
Flex:
Adobe Flex is the development and deployment of cross-platform rich Internet applications based on the Adobe Flash platform. Flex applications can be written using Adobe Flash Builder or by using the freely available Flex compiler from Adobe.
The initial release in March 2004 by Macromedia included an SDK, an IDE, and a Java EE integration application known as Flex Data Services. Since Adobe purchased Macromedia in 2005, subsequent releases of Flex no longer require a license for Flex Data Services, which has become a separate product rebranded as LiveCycle Data Services. An alternative to Adobe LiveCycle Data Services is BlazeDS, an open-source project that started with code contributed in 2007 by Adobe.

Drupal is an Cms system These include the ability to register and maintain individual user accounts within a role-based permission / privilege system, create and manage menus, RSS-feeds, customize page layout, perform logging, and administer the system. As installed, Drupal provides options to create a classic brochureware website, a single- or multi-user blog, an Internet forum, or a community website providing for user-generated content.
Drupal was also designed to allow new features and custom behavior to be added to extend Drupal's core capabilities. This is done via installation of plug-in modules (known as contrib modules) created and contributed to the project by open source community members. For this reason, Drupal is sometimes described as a content management framework. Drupal is also described as a web application framework, as it meets the generally accepted feature requirements for such frameworks.
Although Drupal offers a sophisticated programming interface for developers, no programming skills are required for basic website installation and administration
A much more serious practical hurdle is installation. Drupal like all CMS solutions is dynamically data-driven which demands dedicated server-side support and some reasonably advanced database handling and set-up; a stark contrast to the inherent simplicity of hosting and posting static HTML pages. In terms of requirements you’ll ideally need an Apache server supporting PHP 4 or 5, MySQL, ModRewrite and local . htaccess files (IIS and PostgreSQL are also supported though to a lesser extent)
* Community web portals
* Discussion sites
* Corporate web sites
* Intranet applications
* Personal web sites or blogs
* Aficionado sites
* E-commerce applications
* Resource directories
* Social Networking sites
* Electronic commerce
* Blogs
* Collaborative authoring environments
* Forums
* Peer-to-peer networking
* Newsletters
* Podcasting

* File uploads and downloads
Wordpress
WordPress has a template system, which includes widgets that can be rearranged without editing PHP or HTML code, as well as themes that can be installed and switched between. The PHP and HTML code in themes can also be edited for more advanced customizations. Word Press also features integrated link management; a search engine-friendly, clean permanent structure; the ability to assign nested, multiple categories to articles; and support for tagging of posts and articles. Automatic filters that provide for proper formatting and styling of text in articles (for example, converting regular quotes to smart quotes) are also included. Word Press also supports the Track back and Ping back standards for displaying links to other sites that have themselves linked to a post or article. Finally, Word Press has a rich plug-in architecture which allows users and developers to extend its functionality beyond the features that come as part of the base install.
XHTML,CSS
XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language) is a family of XML markup languages that mirror or extend versions of the widely used Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), the language in which web pages are written.
While HTML (prior to HTML5) was defined as an application of Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), a very flexible markup language framework, XHTML is an application of XML, a more restrictive subset of SGML. Because XHTML documents need to be well-formed, they can be parsed using standard XML parsers—unlike HTML, which requires a lenient HTML-specific parser.
CSS: * CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets
* Styles define how to display HTML elements
* Styles were added to HTML 4.0 to solve a problem
* External Style Sheets can save a lot of work
* External Style Sheets are stored in CSS files
